FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Questions customers frequently ask

Can you just clean the dirty spots on my driveway/patio/garage/other surface?

No. If we only cleaned the dirty spots the rest of the driveway wouldn’t look right. The best way to provide you with the best looking surface possible is to clean the entire surface. We pride ourselves on providing a the best possible result so generally just spot cleaning isn’t recommended.

What is that white residue on my wall/driveway/patio?

Hard water buildup or efflorescence: a white, powdery, crystalline salt deposit that forms on masonry, brick, concrete, and stone surfaces when water dissolves internal salts, migrates to the surface, and evaporates. Many pressure washing companies won’t touch it because in most cases it will come back, it’s only a matter of time. However, we have a special sealant that can solve your wall efflorescence headache for up to 3 years! (This is a big complaint of HOAs)

Do I need to completely clear out my garage/patio/driveway?

Driveways need to be completely clear and we recommend that you park any vehicles across the street for the duration of the service. For garages anything that cannot get wet would need to be moved, we do not want to be responsible for any damage that could be caused by items getting wet. As for patios we ask that you remove any items that can’t get wet. We don’t mind moving lighter furniture. Anything that is too heavy to be moved we will work around, provided it can get wet. Also, if you have dogs we ask that you keep them in the house (even if they’re friendly!) as the pressure washer is very loud. And please pick up any surprises your furry friend may have left outside.

Do you provide any services other than pressure washing?

Yes! We are able to stain and seal surfaces. We offer soft washing of houses and roofs. We do windows. We do graffiti removal. If there is a service you have in mind don’t hesitate to ask. If it’s not a service we provide we will refer you to a reputable contractor who does.

What kind of equipment do you use?

“The Beast” is a Hotsy hot water pressure washing unit that does 5.5 gal/min, 4000 psi with a 350 gallon tank. We use high quality tools such as our surface cleaner, wands, brushes and hoses. We special order our chemicals and sealants and all of our chemicals are environmentally safe.

What is the difference between GPM and PSI?

GPM or gallons per minute determines the flow rate of the water. PSI or pounds per square inch is the amount of pressure the water is striking a surface at, the amount of force. When it comes to pressure washing GPM is much more important because- Faster Cleaning & Rinsing: A higher GPM means more water is delivered, allowing you to wash a wider area in less time. It acts as the “rinsing” agent that flushes away loosened grime.
Safer on Surfaces: High PSI can damage surfaces like wood, stucco, or siding, whereas high GPM allows for effective cleaning at lower, safer pressure levels.
Efficiency: For most residential and commercial tasks, a higher GPM reduces total project time.

Why do you recommend special sand for my pavers?

Polymeric sand (as opposed to plaster sand) is specially formulated with a water-activated adhesive in order to prevent weeds growing through and sets the pavers in place. It also looks much cleaner and extends the life of the pavers. While it may cost a bit more now it ultimately saves you a lot of time and headache down the line
